15 JulRetailers already in Christmas panic

Many shops in the UK and US are fretting that they’ve ordered too much stock for this year’s Christmas season.

The Associated Press has reported that retailers placed orders for much of their stock at the beginning of the year, when the economy was looking good. But, there are signs that the US and UK economies aren’t growing as fast as expected. So stores might need to cut prices come the festive season.

Still, it shows that you can’t start thinking about Christmas too early, even if you have to take some risks with your predictions. I’m already taking orders for my bespoke Christmas vintage bunting, and I’m already scouting the charity shops and markets for Christmas-style fabrics.
